David Robinson began drawing from sampans in Singapore harbour when he was five. He has no formal art education but a love of sailing has naturally led him to draw subjects involving water. A few years ago he studied watercolour, the most unforgiving medium of all!

His design reflects a combination of pen and ink drawing with a watercolour wash and was inspired by his recent retirement to Fowey in Cornwall.
